Title History Search

A Title History Search Statement provides a history of the title, not the property. A search returns a statement displaying the following information, where applicable:  

• Folio Creation Details 

• Record of Dealings 

• Image of paper title (where applicable) 

• Previous land descriptions and proprietorship details may also be recorded  

Where multiple titles are returned, you need to select a Title History Search Statement for each title. 

Ordering a title history  

Simply begin your search for a Title History Search Statement by identifying the property using either the address, volume and folio number, lot on plan or crown allotment. 

If you don't have the Volume and Folio number, which is a unique reference number given to each land title in the Victorian Online Titles System (VOTS). LANDATA requires this number to ensure that we return the correct certificates.  

This search is instant and costs just $8.09 as a service fee and will appear as Land Index Search Fee Service Charge. 

You can avoid this service fee entirely if you have your Title Certificate. The volume and folio number are normally found in the top right-hand corner. Alternatively, some local councils include the Volume and Folio number on your rate's notice.
